The G-Force Source: Couple Stories #1

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
— Lao Tzu

Strength and courage are paramount in chasing those CrossFit and fitness goals. Constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity is challenging, but having your life partner with you to support your efforts and your goals makes it so much easier.

G-Force houses many couples who train together with a shared vision for better healthy lifestyle choices and we’re excited to begin sharing some of their stories. Dave and Hannah are one of our many power couples and their G-Force story can be read below.

For our single friends: don’t fret because no one is a lone soldier. Our support is gym-wide for people from all walks of life and third, fifth and seventh wheels do not exist at G-Force.

G-Force: What do you guys do for a living and what are a few of your hobbies?
Dave: I work in Real Estate Recruitment and Hannah is a Digital Communications Adviser. We both work in fast-paced corporate jobs. When we’re not at work, we’re hanging out with our two english bulldogs.

When did you start at G-Force and how long did it take you to convince Hannah it was a good idea to join?
Dave: I joined three and a half years ago in 2014. I saw Hannah try a few different gyms over the years and she wasn’t achieving the results she was after. I knew she would get those results at G-Force and that it was a good opportunity to spend time together.

What finally made you bite the bullet and come along to G-Force?
Hannah: Dave’s nagging! I was also unmotivated by my usual workout routine and Dave was really enjoying going to G-Force every day, so it just made sense.

What’s the best thing about training together and is G-Force a good environment for couples?
Hannah: It’s nice to see each other challenge themselves in the gym, and to be able to support each other in doing that. It’s really motivating to train alongside Dave and share in something we both enjoy.
Dave: We both motivate each other to go each night and we keep each other accountable.

Has training together at G-Force strengthened your relationship or changed it in any way?
Dave: It definitely has! We start work early in the mornings and get home late, so it’s great to spend time together, and also with the friends we’ve made at the gym.
Hannah: If I’ve had a stressful day, it’s good to be able to release my negative energy at the gym, not at Dave ?

What would you tell other couples thinking about joining?
Dave: Do it! I’ve trained at a few CrossFit gyms over the years and G-Force is by far the most welcoming.
Hannah: As someone who has never done CrossFit before, I couldn’t recommend G-Force more. The coaches are incredibly supportive, and the people are awesome. It’s a lot of fun.
